On 23rd May, 2011, Prof. Michael Adewumi, Vice President of Pennsylvania State University (PSU) in charge of International Collaboration Projects, visited the School of Mechanical Engineering (ME). Prof. Wenjun Zhang, Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) held a friendly talk with Prof. Michael Adewumi. Prof. Lifeng Xi, Executive Dean of ME and Prof. Yingzheng Liu, Vice Dean of ME, first of all, made a brief introduction of ME and review the existing ongoing collaboration projects between SJTU and PSU. Furthermore, future collaboration plan was discussed by both sides. Prof. Michael Adewumi also had a lab tour in the Institute of Automotive Engineering of ME and was deeply impressed by the high-level research done by ME.

Vice President Zhang extended his warm welcome to Prof. Michael Adewumi’s visiting and expressed his fully appreciation of International Capstone Project initiated by Tyco International and joined by ME, PSU College of Engineering and some other engineering college in American universities. He hoped that, via Prof. Michael Adewumi’s visiting, both sides' cooperation ties surely be strengthened
