Prof. Xingcai Lyu was elected as Fellow of The Combustion Institute in Year 2024

Recently, The Combustion Institute has announced its prestigious list of Fellows of The Combustion Institute for 2024, honoring distinguished scholars for their outstanding contributions to combustion research. Among them is Professor Xingcai Lyu, from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, who has earned this well-deserved recognition.

 

 

Professor Lyu is an expert in critical areas such as real fuel high-pressure combustion reaction kinetics, fuel design theory, and advanced engine combustion concepts and technologies. His remarkable achievements have made a significant impact on the field. Professor Lyu currently holds the esteemed titles of Distinguished Professor, the Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Power Machinery and Engineering (Ministry of Education), and the Chairman of the Shanghai Internal Combustion Engine Society. He has published over 240 SCI papers in renowned journals such as Progress in Energy and Combustion Science, Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, and Combustion and Flame, with more than 8600 citations.

 

The Combustion Institute, established in 1954, is a global authority in combustion research. The title of Fellow of The Combustion Institute is a lifelong honor, bestowed upon exceptional scientists worldwide. In 2024, 19 scholars were elected as Fellows, including two Chinese scholars. Up to now, there are five professors from School of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University have been elected to the Fellows of The Combustion Institute.
