The 7Th International Conference on Vibration Engineering and Technology of Machinery (VETOMAC-VII) was held in ME on Nov. 21-24, 2011. It is the seventh in a series of conferences being held as an effort to bring together researchers from diverse areas in Vibration Engineering and Technology of Machinery. The conference is organised by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and City University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with the Vibration Institute of India.

The main intention of the Conference is to provide directed focus on the state-of-the-art theoretical, experimental and computational methodologies. The aim of the conference is to bring together engineers, scientists and mathematicians from academia and industry and to provide a platform for the presentation of creative and novel research findings. Conference will provide a unique opportunity to exchange information between researchers around the world. The associated discussion will faciliate interchange of ideas and provide guidance for future research direction.

More than 70 participants from 12 countries and regions attended the conference. On the morning of Nov. 21, Prof. C.W.Lim from City University of Hong Kong hosted the opening ceremony.
