一、学科简介 Introduction

上海交通大学动力工程及工程热物理学科始建于1913年,1953年招收我国解放后第一批研究生,是国家首批一级重点学科,首批一级学科博士点。2011年所依托的机械与动力工程学院入选国家高等教育改革试点学院。在百年发展的历史上,培养了“两弹一星”科学家钱学森、王希季等一大批杰出人才。20165月入选全球ESI工程学万分之一学科。本学科设有“动力工程与工程热物理”一级学科博士点并设有"动力工程及工程热物理"博士后流动站。

学科拥有汽车电子控制技术国家工程实验室、燃煤污染物减排国家工程实验室(上海)、船舶与海洋工程动力系统国家工程实验室(上海交大)等3个国家级基地,动力机械与工程教育部重点实验室、太阳能发电及制冷教育部工程研究中心、燃气轮机与民用航空发动机教育部工程研究中心等省部级基地,下设叶轮机械、新能源动力、热能工程、制冷与低温、工程热物理和燃料电池等研究所。本学科师资力量雄厚,有工程院院士3人,中科院院士1人,国家创优争先奖1人,国家级教学名师1人,国家特聘专家3人,长江特聘(讲座)教授3人,国家杰青基金获得者7人,优青4人,青年长江1人,“百千万人才工程”国家级人选4人。拥有国家自然基金创新群体、教育部创新团队和科技部创新人才推进计划重点领域创新团队等先进群体。本学科科研成果丰硕,近年来主持承担国家自然科学基金重大项目、重点项目、国家重点研发专项等20余项,2005年以来获国家自然科学奖3项,国家技术发明奖2项,国家科技进步二等奖2项。

动力工程与工程热物理硕士点为我国能源与动力领域累计培养硕士数千名,大批硕士毕业生成为企业家、行业骨干和技术精英,为我国能源动力学科和行业发展做出了积极贡献。本学科全日制硕博连读(硕士阶段)研究生培养过程注重理论基础的学习和开拓专业视野,为将来进入博士阶段打好理论基础和专业素养,希望同学进入博士阶段后能尽快适应科研环境,投入学术前沿、重大工程和关键技术的研究工作中去。

The discipline of Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics(PEET) in Shanghai Jiao Tong University was established in 1913. In 1953, it was selected as the first batch of state key discipline as well as one of the first disciplines in China that offered Doctoral degree program in Power and Energy Engineering. Affliated to the School of Mechanical Engineering, it was selected as one of the national pilot schools by Ministry of EducationMOEin 2011. Over the past century, the discipline has nurtured tens of thousands of graduates, contributing significantly to scientific and technological developments as well as economic growth at the national and international levels. Notable alumni include Xuesen Qian (co-founder of Jet Propulsion Laboratory) and Xiji Wang, whom were awarded the highest national honor – the Two Bombs and One Satellite Meritorious Award. Engineering discipline including PEET was rated as one of the top 0.01% ESI disciplines in May 2016. Aiming to develop an internationally renowned and cutting-edge research in PEET, there has been rapid progress, engagement with world-class scientists, grooming of national talents, and scientific research in the recent decades.

Cutting-edge research activities currently conducted in PEET are rooted in several national and key regional laboratories, which include National Engineering Laboratory for Automotive Electronic Control Technology, National Engineering Laboratory for Reducing Emissions from Coal Combustion (Shanghai), National Engineering Laboratory for Marine and Ocean Engineering Power SystemSJTU),Key Laboratory for Power Machinery and Engineering of MOE, Engineering Research Center of Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE) for Solar Power and Refrigeration, Gas Turbine and Civil Aero-engine. The full spectrum of research directions include Turbomachinery, Advanced Energy and Powertrain Technology, Thermal Energy, Refrigeration and Cryogenics, Engineering Thermophysics and Full Cell. The faculty includes one member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, three members of Chinese Academy of Engineering, one National Excellence Awardee, one National Renowned Teacher, three National Distinguished Professors, and three Chair Professors of Changjiang Scholars Program. In addition, seven faculty members were awarded The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, four faculty members were awarded The National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, one faculty member were awarded the Young Changjiang Scholars Program. Our pursuit of research innovation and global excellence has been recognized worldwide. The research were mainly granted by National High Technology Research Development Program China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and National Basic Research Program of China. Research outcomes have led to 3 National Natural Science Awards, 2 National Technology Invention Awards and 2 Second-grade State Science and Technology Progress Award.

As a key institute of doctoral degree education in China, PEET is dedicated to nurturing academically inclined, all-rounded, and innovation-orientated students with global perspectives, who can become top engineers or renowned scholars in the global community. There have been thousands of Ph.D. degree students thus far, most of the alumni have grown to scientists, technology experts and industry leaders. Focusing on the theoretical learning and expanding professional horizons, this program will lay a good theoretical foundation and professional qualities for entering the doctoral study in the future. Students are able to adapt to the scientific research environment and get devoted to research work on academic frontiers, major projects, and key technologies as soon as they enter the doctoral stage.

二、培养目标 Program Objective

硕博连读生以培养博士生为最终目标,用最优化的时间、最优化的课程设计来培养出积极为国家服务、具有独立从事科学研究工作能力、能在科学或专门技术上做出创造性成果的人才。

With the ultimate goal of cultivating doctoral students, the program uses the optimized time and optimized curriculum to nurture innovative talents who can independently engage in scientific research.

1、系统性地掌握能源与动力工程领域坚实宽广的基础理论知识和系统深入的专门知识;

Having a systematic grasp of the basic theories as well as a systematic and in-depth knowledge of power engineering and engineering thermophysics.

2、深入了解本学科的技术进展和学术前沿;

Deeply understanding the progress, tendency and frontier of his/her own research field.

3、具有一定的独立从事科学研究的能力,能够运用相关的基础理论、专业知识和新技术开展科学研究,并取得一定的研究成果,为博士阶段的学习打下扎实的基础;

Capable of independent research utilizing the fundamental theories, professional knowledge and frontier technology. Obtainment of innovative achievement for further doctoral study.

4、具有较好的国际视野,能熟练地阅读和翻译本专业的外文资料,并具有一定的专业外语写作能力和学术交流能力

Having good global vision, including fluent reading and translating of professional documents, good professional writing and academic communication skills.

5、能够胜任企业特别是大中型企业、科研院所的科研助理、工程应用或科技管理等工作。

Qualified for professional teaching in higher education organizations, scientific research, engineering technology R&D, or scientific and technical management in large-to-medium enterprise or research institutions.

三、培养方式及学习年限 Training Mode and Study Duration

硕博连读生学习年限为6-8年。其中,硕士阶段为2年,博士阶段为4年,博士阶段可以延期到6年。是全日制方式培养。

硕博连读生的课程学习由硕士课程和博士课程两部分组成,硕士阶段的课程在第一年完成,博士阶段课程在成功转博后的第一年完成,总的课程学习时间不超过两年。

The length of full-time Combined Master and Doctoral Program (Master Level) is 4 years. Master level lasts 2 years while doctoral level lasts 4 years with a maximum length of 6 years.

 Students should complete master level coursework in the first year and complete doctoral level coursework within the first year after transferring to doctoral level. The maximum length of coursework should last no longer than 2 years.

四、硕士阶段课程学习要求 Course Requirement

全日制硕博连读生(硕士阶段),课程总学分≥30学分,总学分上限为45学分。必须选择一门全英文课程。其中:选择GPA统计源的课程≥19学分,GPA≥2.7方可以进入博士阶段。
        Full-time Combined Master and Doctor Degree Program (Master Level). Minimum credits: 30 credits, including at least 19 credits from GPA courses. One English-teaching course is required. Students whose GPA of the GPA courses is above 2.7 are eligible for doctoral study.

博士课程学习计划参照对应的博士生培养方案制定,在转为博士生后正式取得博士学号、进入博士阶段后再选择。

The doctoral level training plan should be made referring to the corresponding docotoral training scheme after transferring to doctoral level.

五、培养过程要求 Training Requirement

培养过程中的主要时间节点如下:

(一)硕博连读生的硕士阶段

1、第一学年(第1、第2学期):以课程学习为主。硕博连读生入学后,通过三周的时间熟悉导师及研究方向等,之后完成意向导师的双选匹配。

2、第二学年(第3、第4期):准备和进行资格考试、正式确定导师。

学院每年组织二次博士生资格考试,大多数同学安排在秋季11月开始,少数同学和秋季考试不及格的同学可以选择在春季4月份参加资格考试。资格考试允许补考一次。

资格考试通过后,方能转入博士阶段培养。 学院将根据学校的要求组织已通过博士生资格考试(含一次通过和二次通过的)同学进行网上申报和博士资格确认(博士生入学复试)、确定导师。

 3、硕博连读生转博和分流(第5学期初)

1)通过资格考试、并通过博士生入学复试的同学正式进入博士培养阶段,转为博士生。

2)二次博士生资格考试均未通过、经学院审核后转为按硕士生培养(开题、中期考核等过程质控参照学校对学术硕士的要求),转为硕士生的,学习年限为三年半,优秀者可申请提前毕业。

3)不适合进行硕士学位学习和研究工作的,可选择退学。

(二)博士阶段(第5学期及以后)

正式取得博士学籍、进入博士阶段后将按博士生的相关规定培养。                                                                                                        

The training process are summarized as follows:

Master level

1. The first academic year (1st and 2nd semester): Focusing on coursework. After enrollment, students learns about supervisors and their research background within three weeks, and then complete the double-way matching.

2. The second academic year (3rd and 4th semester): Preparing for and attending Ph.D. Qualification Examination and select supervisor .

Two Ph.D. Qualification Examination are held each academic year. Most students are scheduled to attend it in November. A few students and those who fail the first time can choose to take the it in next April.

Only those who pass the exam can transfer to doctoral level. According to the requirements of SJTU, ME school will organize students who have passed the Ph.D. Qualification Examination to apply  for admission and select supervisor online.

3.Students transfer and diversion (at the beginning of the 5th semester)

(1) Students who pass the Ph.D. Qualification Examination and interview will formally enter into the  doctoral level.

(2) Those who fail Ph.D. Qualification Examination two times will be transferred as master students after the school's review (training scheme refers to the school's requirements for academic master studnets). Outstanding students can apply for early graduation during the three and a half years study.

(3) Those who are not suitable for master study and research work can choose to quit the program.

 Doctoral degree (since 5th semester)

After entering into doctoral level, students shall follow the requirements of the relevant regulations of doctoral students training.
