Biography

Örjan Smedby 1992年博士毕业于瑞典乌普萨拉大学（Uppsala universitet，世界排名前100）。
1994-1996，获瑞典医学研究学会 (SSMF) 奖学金，在乌普萨拉大学放射学系从事博士后研究。自1996年起任教于乌普萨拉大学，2004年晋升为教授。2015年1月起任教于瑞典皇家理工学院 (KTH)，担任生物医学工程与健康系统学院医学图像处理与可视化实验室 (MIPV) 主任。Örjan Smedby教授在医学图像处理、人工智能与计算机辅助手术领域是蜚声世界的著名学者之一，特别是在医学图像三维可视化、多模图像配准融合、放射治疗规划等方面建树颇丰。主持了瑞典及欧盟科研项目经费超过1亿瑞典克朗，代表性科研项目包括：VR-NT（1140万瑞典克朗，2012-2017）、VR-RFI（1100万瑞典克朗，2011-2015）、Hjärtlungfonden（1380万瑞典克朗，2009-2019）等。在本领域顶尖SCI期刊（IEEE TMI、Medical Image Analysis等）发表论文104篇，h指数高达30。

Abstract

Current technological progress in multidimensional and multimodal acquisition of biomedical data enables detailed investigation of the individual health status that should underpin improved patient diagnosis and treatment outcome. However, the abundance of biomedical information has not always been translated directly in improved healthcare. In this talk, the dissemination of new research results will be introduced in the field of medical and biological image analysis, with special emphasis on efforts related to the applications of computer vision, virtual reality and robotics to biomedical imaging problems.
