Abstract
Professor Timothy Gordon is a leading expert in the field of vehicle system dynamics and control, who is currently the president of IAVSD, and also the Co-chair of Technical Committee on Intelligent Vehicular Systems and Control of IEEE. Professor Gordon received his PhD(1978) and his BA(1975) from Gonville and Caius College at University of Cambridge respectively. He is now a Head of School of Engineering at University of Lincoln. He joined Lincoln in 2014 having spent ten years at the University of Michigan (UM) as Professor in the College of Engineering, and heading the Engineering Research Division at UM’s Transportation Research Institute. He was the head of the Department of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering at Loughborough University. His research includes vehicle control systems, vehicle dynamics, active safety, collision avoidance, autonomous systems including self-driving cars.
